Presentation :

The assessment of the functional diversity of organisms, which have no extant relatives, appears as a highly challenging issue in evolutionary biology. The project focuses on the rich mosaic of cranial resemblances found in several groups of extant rodents and extinct notoungulates.

Expected results :

L’approche utilisée vise à intégrer l’ensemble des caractéristiques morpho-fonctionnelles de ce complexe afin d’améliorer les inférences fonctionnelles sur ces notongulés, en s’appuyant sur l’étude de rongeurs actuels, pour pouvoir ensuite réviser les hypothèses sur la paléoécologie de ces mammifères.
